FULLERTON, CA—65^th Assembly District Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva today announced receiving the endorsements of retired Fullerton School District board members Minard Duncan and Ellen Ballard for her 2018 re-election campaign.

In addition to his service on the school board, Mr. Duncan was the principal at the elementary school where Quirk-Silva began her teaching career. Now, Mr. Duncan is active in veteran’s issues (he served his country with honor in the Korean War) and has helped Quirk-Silva lead the fight for a new veteran’s cemetery in Orange County.

Ellen Ballard taught in Fullerton School District for many years before retiring, promoted high academic standards for students, and helped to enact shared accountability initiatives for teachers, parents and students.

Quirk-Silva spent over 20 years teaching in the Fullerton School District prior to being elected to the Assembly in 2016. She is the former Mayor of Fullerton and served in the Assembly from 2012-2014.

The 65th Assembly District includes Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, Stanton and most of West Anaheim.
